Citie Ballet is pleased to join with Corpus Vocis in twinning the arts of dance and poetry in a full evening of spectacular and innovative performance. No fewer than eight world premieres will showcase the contemporary work of Edmonton choreographers exploring this ancient art form. A range of themes from the abstract and metaphysical to the passionate and humourous are accompanied by poetry commissioned especially for this event. Alberta has never before seen dance and poetry woven together in this way or on this scale.
Independent choreographers Katalin Bihari, Kathy Metzger-Corriveau and Christianne Ullmark join with Citie Ballet's Resident Choreographer, Solveig Groenland and Artistic Director, William Thompson to create new works. Joining them is Tamara Bliss, Artistic Director with dancers from Orchesis and François Chevennement, Artistic Director with dancers from Dance Alberta.
A feast for the eyes, a feast for the ears, this is a must see, must hear performance for the adventurous spectator.
