Community Spirit 2007: Citie Ballet sponsored event

Community Spirit is an annual event which unites the dance community in support of a children's charity. William Thompson, Artistic Director Emeritus took over the event in 2005 and, with the Citie Ballet board, converted it from a dance showcase into the community event which it remains under François Chevennement
The 2007 event raised $3000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton. It involved 150 performers from Cecchetti Dance Theatre, Citie Ballet
Dance At Brijet's, Dance Fusion, FreeFall Dance, Edmonton Dance Centre, Edmonton Dance Factory, Edmonton Festival Ballet, Fine Arts Society of Wetaskiwin, La Girandole, Lecky School of Dancing, Marr-Mac Dance & Theatre Arts Centre, Sandra Gray School of Dancing, Shelley's Dance Company and Victoria School of Performing and Visual Arts .

May 28, 2006, Russian Arts Festival: Citie Ballet performed excerpts from Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty ballet. more
October 14, 2006, Italian Women's Club fundraiser for Lois Hole Hospital for Women: a special choreography to the music of Rossini was created by Artistic Director Francois Chevennement.
February 24, 2007, Community Spirit III: with the participation of 15 local dance groups. A fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters organized by Citie Ballet.
March 3, 2007, Stars of Hope: a fundraiser for Kids with Cancer. Citie Ballet performed a work by company dancer Larissa Lynn.
May 5, 2007, St. Mary's Band Fundraiser, Westlock, AB: with special choreography by Artistic Director, Francois Chevennement to help raise funds for educational travel for the band. more
